Translational brain technologies

This unit focuses on translational brain technologies that integrate in vivo preclinical models, neuroimaging, and electrophysiology to investigate clinically relevant mechanisms of brain function and dysfunction. Research activities combine structural and diffusion MRI, CT, PET, and EEG/high-density/stereo-EEG with in vivo preclinical studies of neurological disorders and acquired brain injuries, including stroke and neurodegeneration.

The unit develops and validates hardware–software neurotechnologies for multichannel neural recording, stimulation, and neuromodulation, supported by advanced offline and real-time signal processing approaches. By tightly integrating in vivo experimentation with multimodal brain data, this unit enables the identification of translational biomarkers and the evaluation of neurotechnological strategies with clear relevance for human brain disorders.
